No matter what happens, Jesus Is! No matter what.
He is our Jesus, our Unfailing Friend, The One and Only who has loved us so much. I believe that John Newton’s hymn, “Amazing Grace” is such a gift to us Christians! He found us, in our sin, in our filth, in our unworthiness, in our shame, in our pride that only leads to destruction, He died for us.
This is OUR Jesus!
Here we are, because of covetousness, running for things that don’t belong to us…
Here we are, always seeking to meet some standards set by a fleeting world and an equally lost generation…
Here we are, so ignorant our how complete we are in the Love of Jesus……
the Word of God says in Mathew 9:36; “the sight of the people moved Him to pity; they were like sheep without a shepherd, …. helpless”
… and in that state, He found me. My Jesus found me. Our Jesus found us!
There are times when we get so overwhelmed, and we seem to think that God might have forsaken us, or He must be too busy with His other creation to have a little time for us. We think that it must’ve been something we did or didn’t do that has got Him “teaching us a lesson”. So in our distress, we are discouraged. It feels like “it’s never going to get better” and we begin to draw away from Him. But here’s the truth that seems so hard to believe sometimes; Jesus ALWAYS comes through! It does get hard. Sometimes we’re on fire and other times we begin to wonder, “how better is it on this side?”
“even I athirst for His aspiring
I, who have talked with Him, forget again
Yes, many days with sobs and with desiring offer to God a patience and pain;
BUT THEN! through the mid complaint of my confession,
Then, through the pang and passion of my prayer,
Leaps with a start the shock of His possession,
Thrills me and touches me,
And MY LORD is there!”
This is MY JESUS!
I definitely have not been through half of what anyone is going through, I may never understand the half of your struggle and I will not claim to, but in my very “little”,” simple” (as compared to someone else’s) experiences that had me asking God a 1000 questions, that made me resent life (selfishly), I have discovered the Faithful One that loves me so much to ever let me go. He said He’ll never leave us, He said He will never abandon us. No, I don’t have a “physical” answer yet to what i’ve been crying about and praying for, but I have the peace of God! I know He’s working. I know He knows the plans He has for me. They’re good. They are plans to give me an expected end. For me, that’s enough.
It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to feel discouraged and helpless. That’s how Jesus found us in the first place, helpless (Mt. 9:36) I’ll tell you what’s not okay. What is NOT okay, is letting that helpless state rid you of your peace. What’s not okay, is having anxiety have the superior power over you. What’s not okay is you not leaving all those feelings in the Hands that were wounded for you! Because only then! will the PEACE of God which is beyond our utmost understanding keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus!
IS YOUR HEART STAYED ON JESUS
For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel …….
…..in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength (Isaiah 30:15 KJV).
Hebrews 10:35-38 : “Do not then throw away your confidence, for it carries a great reward. You need endurance, if you are to do God’s will and win what He has promised. For “SOON AND VERY SOON, He who is to come will come; He will not delay; and by faith my righteous servant shall find life; BUT (there’s a but!) if a man shrinks back…….
by giving up on Jesus, by thinking it’s a lost cause trusting in Jesus, nothing is going to change; He says;
…… I take no pleasure in him.”
But you know what? Paul says, (and I absolutely agree!) that,
“We are NOT among those who shrink back and are lost” – v39.
I always say that I would love to meet Paul and personally thank him for all his lovely letters! He put it best in his prayer in Ephesians 3:14-19;
“I ask him to strengthen you by His Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask Him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.”
The devil, he is very much aware of where we find our strength and peace, may we NEVER permit him to rob us!
Isaiah 49:23 – “They shall not be ashamed that wait for me”
He is OUR JESUS! 🙂
