Hearts Stayed on Jesus

 ‘There is a point to which we come, when, utterly trusting the promise of our Father, we rest our hearts upon Him. He who says “Come unto Me” does not push us away when we come. As we go on, led by the Holy Spirit who so kindly helps our infirmities, we find ourselves in 1 John 5:14,15 and Philippians 4:6
It is good to remember that immediate answer to prayer is not always something seen, but it is always inward PEACE. (The Lord is near;have no anxiety, but in everything make your requests known to God in Heaven. Then the PEACE of God which is beyond our utmost understanding will keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6  NEB)
And if the day ends otherwise and we are discouraged? Then tell Him so, “nothing ashamed of tears upon His feet”.Lord, Thou knowest all things. Thou knowest that I love Thee. “Yes, my child, I know.” But don’t settle down into an “it will never be different” attitude. It will be different if only in earnest desire we follow on to know the Lord.”- Amy Carmichael

No matter what happens, Jesus Is! No matter what.

He is our Jesus, our Unfailing Friend, The One and Only who has loved us so much. I believe that John Newton’s hymn, “Amazing Grace”  is such a gift to us Christians! He found us, in our sin, in our filth, in our unworthiness, in our shame, in our pride that only leads to destruction, He died for us.

This is OUR Jesus!

Here we are, because of covetousness, running for things that don’t belong to us…

Here we are, always seeking to meet some standards set by a fleeting world and an equally lost generation…

Here we are, so ignorant our how complete we are in the Love of Jesus……

the Word of God says in Mathew 9:36; “the sight of the people moved Him to pity; they were like sheep without a shepherd, …. helpless”

 … and in that state, He found me. My Jesus found me. Our Jesus found us!

There are times when we get so overwhelmed, and we seem to think that God might have forsaken us, or He must be too busy with His other creation to have a little time for us. We think that it must’ve been something we did or didn’t do that has got Him “teaching us a lesson”. So in our distress, we are discouraged. It feels like “it’s never going to get better” and we begin to draw away from Him.  But here’s the truth that seems so hard to believe sometimes;  Jesus ALWAYS comes through! It does get hard. Sometimes we’re on fire and other times we begin to wonder, “how better is it on this side?”

“even I athirst for His aspiring

I, who have talked with Him, forget again

Yes, many days with sobs and with desiring offer to God a patience and pain;

BUT THEN! through the mid complaint of my confession,

Then, through the pang and passion of my prayer,

Leaps with a start the shock of His possession,

Thrills me and touches me,

And MY LORD is there!”

This is MY JESUS!

I definitely have not been through half of what anyone is going through, I may never understand the half of your struggle and I will not claim to, but in my very “little”,” simple” (as compared to someone else’s) experiences that had me asking God a 1000 questions, that made me resent life (selfishly),  I have discovered the Faithful One that loves me so much to ever let me go. He said He’ll never leave us, He said He will never abandon us. No, I don’t have a “physical” answer yet to what i’ve been crying about and praying for, but I have the peace of God! I know He’s working. I know He knows the plans He has for me. They’re good. They are plans to give me an expected end. For me, that’s enough.

It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to feel discouraged and helpless. That’s how Jesus found us in the first place, helpless (Mt. 9:36) I’ll tell you what’s not okay. What is NOT okay, is letting that helpless state rid you of your peace. What’s not okay, is having anxiety have the superior power over you. What’s not okay is you not leaving all those feelings in the Hands that were wounded for you! Because only then! will the PEACE of God which is beyond our utmost understanding keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus!

For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel …….
…..in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength (Isaiah 30:15 KJV).

“Be persuaded, timid soul, that He has loved you too too much to ever cease loving you.”
We are living in a generation that has been polluted with the idea that Love is a two-way affair; you only get as much as you give. And so the moment we start going through the “hard times”(I choose to call them learning experiences), we feel that it must’ve been something we did wrong that is making Jesus treat us this way. But you see, Jesus is not like us. His love is not the cautious one that seeks to get something from us(Ephesians 5:1-2 The MSG translation). He loves us just because!  He shed His blood in fulfillment of the law, just like how they would shed the blood of animals as a sin-offering, to bear the burden of our sins. He loves us so much, He rescued us from sin, from death! Now tell me how this One who gave His life in exchange for our sins, would think of abandoning us? He is not a man, that He would start something He can’t finish.
I sincerely wish I was speaking this message rather than typing it and I sit here overwhelmed with emotion by how infinite the Love of Jesus Is! He loves us! He knows the plans He has for us. Our only task is to know deeply in our souls- in that unshakeable place that isn’t flustered with worry, fear, anxiety and all the negatives – that He has loved us too much to ever stop loving us! and we are worthy of that Love!
If there are words for exactly who Jesus is, if there are words to completely express what the Love of Jesus does for us, then I don’t have them. Let my words be few, for my Jesus knows my heart.

Hebrews 10:35-38 : “Do not then throw away your confidence, for it carries a great reward. You need endurance, if you are to do God’s will and win what He has promised. For “SOON AND VERY SOON, He who is to come will come; He will not delay; and by faith my righteous servant shall find life; BUT (there’s a but!) if a man shrinks back…….

by giving up on Jesus, by thinking it’s a lost cause trusting in Jesus, nothing is going to change; He says;

…… I take no pleasure in him.”

But you know what? Paul says, (and I absolutely agree!) that,

“We are NOT among those who shrink back and are lost” – v39.

I always say that I would love to meet Paul and personally thank him for all his lovely letters! He put it best in his prayer in Ephesians 3:14-19;

I ask him to strengthen you by His Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask Him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.”

The devil, he is very much aware of where we find our strength and peace, may we NEVER permit him to rob us!

 Isaiah 49:23 – “They shall not be ashamed that wait for me”

He is OUR  JESUS! 🙂
