“If you ask me, I think this generation is losing the significance of why Jesus died on the cross. I think they know Jesus was a man who died on the cross, but they don’t understand the SIGNIFICANCE and the PURPOSE of his death. The cross has become a beautiful piece of jewelry in our modern day age and we got a generation that don’t really understand why Jesus died. I know what I did in my past and I know some of the things I did and how I needed to be given a second chance. As human beings, we’re all looking to fill an emptiness that we feel inside. We know what we do when people are looking and we know what we do when people are not looking. I’m not concerned about who sees me or the things that I do in the public eye. I’m more worried about the things I’m doing when the public is not looking and his death on the cross frees me from the invisible shackles that hold me, I can bet you,I’m so thankful and so grateful and I think this generation don’t understand that his death brings hope, they don’t understand that the cross is purpose. You could feel empty but you can never be filled until you understand what Jesus did on the cross. Because of his death we can live. because He died we can now have a second chance.”~ R.I.C.H
God loves the sinner not the sin. I’m here wondering “why this title?” So I asked God to please speak to me that I may speak to His own people. You see, I think the problem with this generation is that we have been pampered so much with the fact that we have “freedom in Christ.” We see people committing fornication, which they know from the very onset of that action, that is wrong and they proudly preach “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” They ask for repentance, and go back and indulge in the same sin, and go back to church on sunday and keep crying to God asking for forgiveness. It’s like a cycle. Yes there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, but let me take us to Hebrews 6:1 which says; “Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to MATURITY! NOT LAYING AGAIN THE FOUNDATION of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God”. What am I saying? We need to move past the stage where we willingly and blatantly sin against our God just because we know so well the scripture that talks about no condemnation for those who are in Christ! Move beyond the ELEMENTARY teachings of Christ! Where you are the only one hoping and praying that you would hear a sermon on how merciful God is eeevvery sunday. So you can feel at peace.I’m saying today, that, Be taken forward to maturity. 1 Timothy 1:19 says “Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked. ” Who I wish to talk about are the people who fall in this category. Those who deliberately violate their conscience and yet so proudly boast of their freedom in Christ. I’m talking to church people. This message is not for those who have no idea what the scripture says. This message is for those who go to church every sunday and say “bless the lord oh my soul, and ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME….” really? Its plainly IMPOSSIBLE to be saved and live in a continuous state of worldliness. There’s no way you can LOVE GOD and be “okay” with lust, with fornication, with drunkenness, with being in places that were created for activities that do not please God. These things are not of or from God. How do I know this? Philippians 4:8 says; “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is TRUE, whatever is NOBLE, whatever is RIGHT, whatever is PURE, whatever is LOVELY, whatever is ADMIRABLE—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” You don’t intentionally indulge in your favorite sin when you are very much aware of how wrong it is and come back and say “God will forgive me, he’s merciful”.
Let me cast our minds back to Judges 1,2 and 3 when the Israelites deliberately decided to bow to the idols of the Canaanites. God still loved them, he forgave them sooo much to the extent that he raised up judges to lead them to victory even after he had told them not to have any covenants with the people of that Land. That is God’s love for the sinners. But then again, he got angry at the Israelites, Bible says He “burned with anger” and punished them by causing to suffer under the reign of the kings of that land until they CRIED OUT to the Lord for help….[NOT THE SIN!!]. People know hell is real but are yet soo comfortable with sin. The Bible says it will be too late for some people.(The story of the ten virgins in Mathew 25:1-10) You see, I’m not referring to those who have noo idea what God’s word is about. I’m talking to those who know. Those who started early. Those some of us learned from who have now decided to channel their human efforts into worldly pleasures. (Galatians 3:1-4) God says when you hear my voice, harden not your hearts. I see people compromise with the world and it makes me so sad because I know these people know the right thing. You put the “Jesus piece” on your neck and go to places that were built for sinful activities. And you celebrate Easter because you think you know the significance of the cross. Do you know really?? When you take the Jesus piece with you to sin? Because what? You have freedom in christ? Because “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus?”
I think there’s been too much pampering with the church. We have heard too much about the good stuff that we forget that with God, it’s a relationship! Do for me and I will do for you. Its not by word of mouth or by happily declaring nice Bible verses on your facebook status. Yes we know God is good. Even muslims know that! Let’s get real here. What are you doing for Christ? What are you doing to build that relationship that you APPARENTLY so yearn to have with Christ when you put up those verses on your status? I read that “The Lord will use any means to turn people away from their wickedness. yet often his voice and his ways are ignored”. And isn’t that true? I mean, most of us have read or even heard of people who have gone to Heaven and Hell and have come to tell us how Jesus told them to write and tell His people how much the Holy Spirit grieves when he sees what the world is doing. When He came down to die such a painful death! He speaks through men of God to us. And we are oh-so-touched we begin to cry. How many days after do we go back to insult our neighbor, to gossip about the boy/girl, to “party hard”? I had someone close to me tell me there’s nothing wrong with these things because at the end of the day “God knows our hearts”. Really? When are we going to get past the “God knows are hearts” line? How are these things noble, pure, true, admirable? He said in later part of Phillipians 4:8 to verse 9 that “if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it” So doing all these things I’ve mentioned and declaring our freedom in Christ, we are in other words saying that, you know, this is what we heard and saw Christ do. Isn’t it?How are curse words noble, pure, admirable, worthy of praise? I’m saying, I’m open to anyone who can attempt to tell me how because my Bible which is the LIVING WORD said not so.
Hell is meant for the devil.(Angelica’s testimony) Our own actions make us end up there. we need to get out of our comfort zones. If we really want to accomplish what God wants for us to accomplish on earth, we need to get out of our comfort zones. We really need to. This is really not the time to be lukewarm. Yes God loves us. If he didn’t he wouldn’t say we need to repent from our wicked ways. We need to go God like Job did in the book of Job 6:24. “Teach me, and I will be quiet; show me where I have been wrong.” Make yourself available to Him. I wonder how many of us actually do make ourselves available?Spend time in his presence. Seek Him. You know? As you wear the Jesus piece, do you remember what it took Him to die for you? He did all that so that you will be saved. You can’t declare your love for Christ and compromise lust? Fornication? No one can serve two masters, you will HATE one and love the other. That means If you love the world you hate God and this is a plain interpretation. We need to get past waiting till Sunday to see how the preacher’s word will cause us to repent. God’s promises are not to those who occupy the pews in church, the proud and happy church goers. His message of eternity is for CHRISTIANS. Those who Hate the world and Love Him. Those who would die to themselves so they can live for Him. God loves us. He so greatly loved and dearly prized us. So much so that he died for us, that we might be saved. I know we can all quote this scripture in our sleep, but if we would read and meditate on every word, we would understand how deeply He loves and Needs us. John 3:16-17;”For God so GREATLY LOVED and DEARLY PRIZED the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, CLINGS TO, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find SALVATION and be made safe and sound through Him.” We need to get out of our comfort zone, we really need to. I can’t stress it enough.
We are not doing God any favor by worshiping Him because NOTHING we do can take God’s glory away from Him. Nothing!
And once again, I say, ” INTERPRETE THE MASTER’s PATIENT RESTRAINT FOR WHAT IT IS – SALVATION!”
Spill Spoken Word!
God Bless Us All.
